First week in USA

14 Agosto 2016

11.08.16
8 giorni negli States.
New York è immensa.
Just live the moment!                                        – Linda

linda's dream

My first week in the States . I thought I could write something  about my feeling as soon as  I had landed in this beautiful huge continent but  there were so many new facts , lots of beautiful things to discover that I did not find any time to write.

I left Italy on 3rd August. I was overwhelmed and scared about this step I was taking: saying goodbye to my boyfriend and family was the worst and difficult things I’d ever done in my whole life. The flight seemed to be a never-ending journey but it was worth doing it. I landed in J.f.K in New York and as soon as I came out from the building I noticed that every single  thing seemed to be so different from European ones : streets, traffic  lights, asphalt roads ….even the breathing air seemed to be different. I could also see the yellow  cab parked each side of the street ( the same ones I used to watch on tv movies ). New York is a huge town.  Any single thing is three time bigger than in any other place I’ve ever visited. I took picture of any  topic I could see ( I now understant how a Chinese feels when visiting my coutry!) I walked in  Central Park, the 5th Avenue, Times Square and much more. I was in the seventh heaven ! I met new friends during these Welcome days in NY, these girls and boys will be part of my heart forever.

Then I left to flight to my final USA destination : IOWA state, where my host family was waiting for me. I took a flight from New York to Chicago and afterwards a domestic one to Waterloo. My host family was waiting for me there. I could have never expected to get a better family than this. I’ve been there for just 8 days and they make me  really feel part of their family. They try to keep me busy all the time, not to make me feel homesick. Each day they surprise me with new adventures , new words, new tastes. Even If I’m missing my home, I’m so happy of being here. I’m pleased of my choice and glad to know I have a family in Italy who loves and cares me that much to give me this great opportunity. I know they are waiting for me , they love me and support me even if I’m on the other side of the world.                                                                                     – Linda

Well… Linda’s adventure directly from her point of view.

XOXOXO
